Akhil Sadhu, MD

I was born in the southern part of India and, at a young age, traveled thousands of miles to Curaçao to begin my medical journey at St. Martinus University. I later moved to Michigan for my clinical clerkships, which gave me great exposure to diverse patient care. After graduation, I returned home to India and worked in clinical practice, which helped me grow and understand what it means to take care of people in the real world.I’ve developed a strong interest in chronic disease management and primary care, especially in building long-term, trusting relationships with patients.

Outside of medicine, I love swimming and skating, spending time with my dog, whose energy never fails to lift my spirits, and immersing myself in the thrill of adventure movies. I’m really excited and grateful to be part of the Baptist Family Medicine Residency in Desoto, MS, and I look forward to learning and growing with everyone here.
